The year 2019 was a year of challenges for banana producers, however, the sector overcame the challenges and exported approximately $ 980 million.
This means that 120 million Costa Rican boxes reached the markets of the United States and the European Union. Figures that continue to place the banana sector as the leader in Costa Rican agricultural exports.
A primary advantage is that Costa Rica has achieved sustainability in fruit cultivation, with great and excellent respect for workers and the environment.
This past year suffered a decrease of just 3.8% in volumes, if we compare it to 2018, not as they predicted it would be 35%, it was a very successful year for our sector.
